On December 27, 1978, the Illuminating Engineering Society of Beijing was approved by Beijing Science and Technology Association; On March 2, 1979, the first member congress of the Illuminating Engineering Society of Beijing was held in the Beijing Workers' Stadium auditorium. From 1979 to 2024, the Illuminating Engineering Society of Beijing has gone through 45 spring, summer, autumn and winter, and worked together for 45 years to win the future through innovation and development.

On April 25, 2024, the "2024 Beijing Lighting Technology Forum and the Fifth Innovative Scientific and Technological Achievements Transformation Exhibition" sponsored by the Illuminating Engineering Society of Beijing and Sail Media successfully held at the Palace Garden Hotel and Resort in Beijing.

Focusing on reform and innovation, focusing on development and transformation, this annual conference and forum revolves around four hot topics: "upholding integrity and innovation, improving efficiency and reducing carbon emissions, empowering industries, and integrating ecology".
